Ryan O'Neal remains positive when faced with another health battle. Several years after having successfully battled leukemia, the "Paper Moon" actor revealed that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. He made the announcement through a statement released by his representative via PEOPLE.

"Although I was shocked and stunned by the news, I feel fortunate that it was detected early and according to my extraordinary team of doctors the prognosis is positive for a full recovery," the 70-year-old continued on. "I am deeply grateful for the support of my friends and family during this time, and I urge everyone to get regular check-ups, as early detection is the best defense against this horrible disease that has afflicted so many."

O'Neal was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia in 2001, and was reportedly in remission in 2006. His latest diagnosis comes nearly three years after he lost his longtime girlfriend, Farrah Fawcett, to anal cancer. The actor playing Max Keenan on "Bones" has written a memoir about their life together, "Both of Us", which will come out on May 1.
